Infrastructure

A distributed infrastructure is a powerful computing environment that combines, using high-speed telecommunication channels and special software, geographically distributed computing resources of different organizations into a single information and computing complex designed to solve a wide range of tasks.

The integration of computing power of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) Member State organizations into a unified distributed information and computing environment (DICE) is an important and topical task, the solution of which would significantly reduce the time of research with obtaining significant scientific results.

The relevance of creating such an environment is associated with the desire of the parties to combine efforts and resources in solving fundamental and applied problems, the successful implementation of which is impossible without the use of new approaches in conducting distributed and parallel calculations and the use of systems for distributed storage of large amounts of data.
